Do I have to leave a deposit upon arrival?
A Credit card deposit is required upon arrival to cover the CDW/Theft Excess (if applicable), petrol and any additional items (baby/child seats).
Are cash deposit’s accepted? Most car hire companies require a valid major credit card for a deposit - cash deposits are no longer normally accepted. If you do not have a credit card, please check with us at: bookit@suncars.com
When do I pay for additional items such as baby/child seats, additional drivers etc.? All additional items are paid directly to the local supplier. Please note all additional items are subject to tax.
How will the supplier know I’ve pre-paid my rental?
Suncars provide each client with a voucher, clients need to present this upon arrival so the supplier know the reservation has been pre-paid.
How old are the vehicles?
The average life of a ‘hire vehicle’ is 6 months for Economy - Intermediate car groups. All other groups are changed approximately every 12 months.
What if my flight is delayed?
As long as firstchoicecarhire.co.uk have been provided with the correct flight number, before you travel, the supplier will monitor the flight and wait for the arrival of the flight. Please note additional ‘out of hours’ fees can be charged if the vehicle is collected after normal office hours.
Can I hire a vehicle if I have endorsements on my licence?
In many cases, you will still be able to hire a rental vehicle even if you have points on your licence for speeding. Please check with us first by e-mailing us at bookit@suncars.com
What happens when a vehicle is on request?
If the vehicle you require is on request, we will endeavor to contact you within 48 hours to confirm the booking to you. In cases where we cannot get the vehicle you require, we will try to offer you a suitable replacement.
How late can I make a booking?
Bookings can only be made online outside of 3 days. Should you wish to make a late booking, please e-mail us at bookit@suncars.com
What is the minimum duration period for your rentals?
All bookings made online currently must be made for a minimum of 3 days. If you would like to make a booking for less than 3 days, please e-mail us at bookit@suncars.com
What do I do if I want to cancel or amend a booking?

Are all your suppliers on airport?
All our airport suppliers are on airport so that you can start your holiday the moment you arrive. We also offer downtown offices available for your convenience.
What is included when I book with firstchoicecarhire.co.uk?
All our rates (with the exception of so some vehicles in Canada and Australia) include unlimited mileage, Third Party Insurance, Fire & Theft Waiver, local taxes and airport fees, CDW/LDW and LIS/EP. For more information click What's Included?.
What is the minimum and maximum age to hire a car?
In most destinations, the minimum no surcharge hiring age is 21 years and maximum is 65 years. However, exceptions do apply in selected locations and young driver surcharges or additional excess premiums may apply. Minimum age requirements on larger car groups may also be increased at some locations. The maximum driver age may also vary by location. For more details, e-mail us at bookit@suncars.com
Which car hire suppliers do you use?
We have negotiated the best deals on your behalf with all the major international car hire suppliers, plus many local specialist rental companys. These suppliers include Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Europcar, Hertz, and Thrifty. We aim to deliver the best car hire rates, with the best suppliers and conveniently on airport to minimise your delay at the airport. This means that you can be rest assured that you will be hiring from quality car hire suppliers at a low cost rate!
When will I receive my car hire voucher?
Your car hire voucher will be dispatched 25 days prior to departure providing that full arrival details such as your flight number.
What documentation will I need to collect my car?
Please make sure that you always travel with your pre-paid car hire voucher, full valid national driving licence and passport.
I have not received my voucher yet or a confirmation e-mail?
If you have not received your car hire voucher within 20 days of the rental start date it may be because we are still awaiting you to confirm your flight number to us. Please either e-mail us at bookit@suncars.com or telephone us on

What happens if I drop my car off late?
You will normally be charged for an additional days rental if you are late bringing your car back. This is at the discretion of the supplier that we use. Charges will be payable locally in local currency and there could possibly be additional taxes.
Will I get the exact make and model of the car that I have requested?
This is dependent upon availability at the time of your arrival. firstchoicecarhire.com cannot guarantee the exact make and model, however, the car hire supplier will provide a similar make and model determined by passenger capacity, engine size or features.
